Alto Laguna is located in the province of Comarca Ngabe-Bugle, and celebrated its transition with Global Brigades in February of 2021. Community members have access to credit through an established and thriving community bank which will support continued investment in local businesses and home improvement projects for families within the community. People in Alto Laguna are primarily dedicated to agriculture. and the community is on the wait-list for eventual Holistic Model implementation as part of Global Brigades’ strategic plan in Panama.

Global Brigades started the business program in Alto Laguna in December 2020 with the establishment of its community bank. During the following months, the community bank members will be trained to ensure the sustainability of the community bank and staff will identify micro-enterprises that can benefit from on-brigade consultations.
