Hybrid Virtual and In-person European Student Leadership Conference
Each year, Global Brigades hosts a European leadership conference for student leaders to share best practices, meet with staff to discuss programs and gather with other passionate leaders.
October 9th, 2021 | From your Computer or at the University of Birmingham
The 11th annual 2021 European SLC will take place on October 9th, virtually OR in-person.
The conference will bring together students, staff and volunteers from across the European network to discuss important topics with Global Brigades staff and board members. This year’s conference will focus on learning more about Global Brigades, health and the poverty cycle, leadership development and fundraising and recruitment. Together we will explore what makes a brigade tick, from the start of the process at the beginning of the academic year, to the follow up after the brigade and the establishment of a new leadership team for the process to be repeated the next year, learn more about the organization and engage in meaningful discussion about sustainable development work.

Introduction to attendees and outline of the plan for the day with Trustee Shaswath Ganapathi. |
| October 9th, 2021 | 1:15 pm BST | Global Brigades at a Glance
GB foundations, history, and overview as an international, student-led organisation with Trustee Federico Amorosi.. Overview of recent successes and challenges (including COVID). Discussion of impact measurements (e.g. Empowered 100), both within and outside of brigades, and why GB is different to other development organisations. Summary of history and presence in the UK. |
