The Success Advisor (SA) serves as the primary account manager for Global Medical Brigades’ university chapters. This role focuses on chapter retention, development, and leadership cultivation, ensuring that each chapter reaches its fullest potential in advancing Global Medical Brigades’ mission. By fostering strong relationships with chapter presidents and leadership teams, the Success Advisor empowers chapters to expand membership, increase fundraising, and plan for sustainable, long-term impact.

As the bridge between the Growth and Program teams, the Success Advisor ensures smooth transitions from recruitment through brigade preparation, while cultivating ongoing chapter engagement and multi-discipline growth.

Acts as the primary relationship manager and point of contact for chapter leadership, coordinating cross-functional communication with Program Advisors to support brigade preparation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Chapter Development & Expansion  (40%)

  • Act as the primary point of contact and account manager for assigned chapters after their initiation and on-boarding by the Growth Team.
  • Support chapter leaders in starting and growing their campus presence through membership recruitment and engagement strategies.
  • Guide chapters through fundraising planning and execution, offering best practices, resources, and regular check-ins to ensure financial readiness.
  • Assist chapters in navigating university processes, such as club recognition, faculty advisor recruitment, and stakeholder communications.

Chapter Retention & Relationship Management (30%)

  • Maintain strong relationships with chapter leaders, guiding them through leadership transitions and annual planning cycles.
  • Facilitate year-round engagement strategies, ensuring chapters stay active and committed beyond individual brigades.
  • Conduct post-brigade debriefs, gathering feedback, celebrating successes, and preparing chapters for their next brigade or leadership cycle.
  • Collaborate with the Program Advisors to ensure chapters are prepared logistically and programmatically for their brigades.
  • Promote leadership transitions and succession planning for Chapter Leaders to ensure continuity and program sustainability.

Leadership Development & Student Empowerment (10%)

  • Mentor and support Chapter Leaders, empowering them to unite chapters on their campus and lead recruitment and engagement initiatives.
  • Attend and present at internal and external conferences to represent Global Medical Brigades and foster leadership within the student network.

CRM Development & Management (20%)

  • Manage and maintain accurate records in Hubspot CRM for assigned chapters and leaders, ensuring timely and effective follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with the Growth and Marketing teams to develop and execute nurturing campaigns and email communications tailored to chapter needs.
  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of strategic workflows to drive chapter engagement and retention.
  • Analyze CRM data quarterly to identify trends and inform chapter engagement strategies.

 

Qualifications:

  • Verbal and written fluency in English required
  • Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalency required
  • Previous experience with Global Brigades or other international volunteer programs preferred
  • Experience with CRM (Hubspot) preferred
  • Organized, with an ability to identify new projects and prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and confidence with engaging in groups (English)
  • Able to adhere to the organization’s virtual work environment policies and maintain regular, consistent working hours M-F
  • Strong communication skills; able to work in a virtual environment and adhere to virtual work policies
  • Strong passion and ability to communicate Global Medical Brigades’ model
  • Minimal travel to Global Brigades events as needed
  • Ability to present and disseminate information in a clear and concise way
  • Ability to match the Global Brigades voice, message, and branding guidelines
  • Demonstrate empathy and advocacy
  • Strong fluency in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meets, Google Slides)

 

Compensation & Logistics:

  • Full time (40 hours per week)
  • Staff members must be based in a US time zone
  • Annual salary commensurate with experience
  • Receives work computer/subsidy
  • Reliable internet and the ability to work from home
  • 14 days paid time off annually, plus holidays
