Overview

Dalogyili is located in the Northern Region in the Tamale District. People in Dalogyili are primarily dedicated to the tourism industry, trading and fishing; the typical house is made of adobe, wood, and mud. The people in this community have access to primary education, but if they want to pursue secondary and tertiary education, they need to travel to the city. When visiting the community, they expressed that their top needs are building a water system for the community, improving access to better healthcare options, and improving and designing better sanitary options. Global Brigades is currently working with Medical brigades in Dalogyili and seeking collaboration with local partners to implement water, sanitation, healthcare and economic projects as part of Global Brigades’ strategic plan in Ghana.

DENTAL CARE ACCESS:

In working closely with the medical program, the dental program provides fillings, extractions, and fluoride treatments as a standard part of medical brigades. Most community members do not have regular access to dental care due to the lack of dentists within a reasonable distance. This program will soon be available in Dalogyili.
