Global TeleBrigades is the world’s first virtual experiential-learning program for university students on an international level; bringing real international development case studies into the classroom. Telebrigades enhances course curriculum by introducing a community challenge in the areas of Engineering, Public Health, and Business; and collectively using experts on the ground to analyze and problem solve over the course of a semester. Business
TeleBrigades
Global Business TeleBrigades are designed for aspiring business professionals to apply their business skills, foster cultural competency through virtual immersion, and with the support of our local teams and mentors from Deloitte or Accenture, create consulting deliverables to help grow small business “clients” from under resourced communities in the developing world.
TeleBrigades enable university students to achieve the same professional outcomes as participating in the field but in the classroom, with even more community impact, greater connections with business mentors and development experts, while limiting time away from work and negative environmental impact associated with travel.
TeleBrigades use virtual meeting software and on-the-ground economic development professionals to facilitate a meaningful experiences for both students and our clients. This innovative program incorporates live consultations, tangible consulting deliverables, and the opportunity for affordable loan capital to help clients execute on their business plans.
Engineering TeleBrigades
Each Global Engineering TeleBrigade is designed for aspiring engineering students to build engineering knowledge through skill-based volunteering, build cultural competency through virtual immersion, and deliver real impact through our local team by remotely designing a water system and budget for rural communities.
TeleBrigades enable students to achieve the same learning outcomes as participating in field work but in the classroom, with even more community impact greater connections to engineering and development experts,, while limiting time away from school and negative environmental impact associated with travel.
TeleBrigades use video calls, various web tools and software, and support of on-the-ground engineering professionals. This innovative program incorporates virtual consultation with the Water Council and Basic Sanitation Committee, virtual designing with a local engineer and detailed budget creation
Public Health TeleBrigades
Public Health TeleBrigades is an international collaboration to prevent disease and improve health outcomes in rural Honduran communities. Our bilingual on-the-ground teams guide students and partner community’s Basic Sanitation Committee (BSC) through the UNDP’s Healthy Schools and Households program, to identify health challenges, assess market demand for in-home infrastructure solutions, and ultimately build a Community Health Action Plan.
The program does not stop at an Action Plan. The BSC implements the plan and shares progress with the students after six weeks of implementation.
TeleBrigades program enables students to achieve the same learning outcomes as a field program but in the classroom, with more community impact and increased connections to development and health experts, while limiting time away from school and any carbon footprint.
Medical
TeleBrigades
Global Medical TeleBrigades are designed for people who care about equitable access to healthcare and want to build medical knowledge through skill-based volunteering, build cultural competency through virtual immersion, and deliver real impact through our local team by participating in live medical clinics.
TeleBrigades use virtual meeting software, secure tele-medical platforms, and the support of the on-the-ground healthcare professionals. This innovative program incorporates mobile medical clinics, interviews with physicians, medical Spanish, an introduction to pharmacology and exposure to unique epidemiologic case studies.
This customizable program is the perfect addition to any classroom for aspiring health professionals.
