MEDICAL BRIGADES

HONDURAS | PANAMA | NICARAGUA | GHANA

Volunteers shadow local and foreign health professionals as they provide pro-bono consultations and medications to patients in rural communities. Volunteers assist with in-take, triage, medication packing, and health education.

Shadow local and foreign health professionals,

including Doctors and Pharmacists.

Mobile Medical clinics are provided directly in

communities, utilizing a community center or

school as the clinic space.

Medical Brigades visit community partners a

minimum of two times per year to ensure

consistent access to healthcare.

Volunteers learn how to utilize an electronic
medical records system, Open MRS, to assist in
tracking patient progress.

The Medical Program works to provide sustainable

healthcare through a resident Community Health

Worker program and a Patient Referral program.

Volunteers engage in evening discussions and educational workshops through our On-Brigade Curriculum

JOIN OR LEAD A MEDICAL BRIGADE

Medical Brigades can be organized through University Medical Chapters (25+ volunteers) or small groups (3-5 volunteers). All volunteers fundraise to support the mobile clinic, logistical costs of their brigade, and year-round healthcare. Brigade Leaders are assigned a Global Brigades Advisor to help them through the coordination process.
