Experience Dental Brigades «

 

DENTAL BRIGADES

HONDURAS | PANAMA | NICARAGUA

 

Volunteers shadow local and foreign health professionals as they provide pro-bono dental procedures and medications to patients in rural communities. Volunteers assist with in-take, triage, medication packing, and health education.

 

 

  

  

 

 

              

Shadow local and foreign health professionals, including Dentists and Pharmacists. 

   

 

 

Volunteers that are not licensed dentists have the opportunity to observe dentists during preventative care, cleanings, and extractions.

     

 

 

Mobile Dental clinics are provided directly in
communities, utilizing a community center or school as the clinic space.

   

 

 

Assist in tracking patient progress by utilizing an electronic medical records system, OpenMRS.

     
 

The Dental Program works in conjunction with
the Medical Program to provide sustainable
healthcare.

     
        

Volunteers engage in evening discussions and educational workshops.

JOIN OR START A DENTAL BRIGADE

Dental Brigades are organized through Dental Chapters on university campuses or workplaces. A minimum of 15 volunteers is needed for a 7-10 day Dental Brigade. Volunteers fundraise together to support the dental clinic and logistical costs of their brigade. New Chapter Presidents are assigned a Chapter Advisor to help them start their Chapter.
