BUSINESS BRIGADES

HONDURAS | PANAMA | GHANA

Volunteers empower small businesses in rural communities to become more economically stable. Volunteers provide financial literacy and planning, strategy consulting, and recommendations for potential business loans.

Volunteers have the opportunity to utilize consulting
frameworks and simple business fundamentals to
address the challenges of small rural businesses.

Businesses that are seeking capital to improve or
grow can work with volunteers to initiate their loan
application and plan.

A portion of volunteers' fundraising goes toward the
capitalization of the local community-owned bank to
utilize for future savings accounts and loans.

Volunteers are provided with translators and
non-business volunteers are provided with guidance
to assist in consulting.

The Business Program works with the Microfinance
Program
to increase the capital available in rural
communities and enhance economic growth.

Volunteers engage in evening discussions and educational workshops.

JOIN OR LEAD A BUSINESS BRIGADE

Business Brigades can be organized through University Business Chapters (15+ volunteers) or small groups (3-5 volunteers). All volunteers fundraise to support the business loans, logistical costs of their brigade, and year-round economic development. Brigade Leaders are assigned a Global Brigades Advisor to help them through the coordination process.
