Who We Are:

Global Brigades is an international non-profit that empowers communities to meet their health and economic goals through university volunteers and local teams. We work alongside rural community members to achieve their core development goals through integrated health, water and sanitation, and economic development programs. Based on its Holistic Model, Global Brigades’ mission is to sustainably transition out of each community once it has met development objectives relying on both the strong buy-in of the community members and a dedicated in-country staff. This role will also support Squads Abroad, Global Brigades’ sister organization that works with middle and high school volunteers.

Purpose Statement:

The PROGRAM ASSOCIATE (PA) is responsible for the successful preparation of the service-learning  Kambia (University) or Squad (High School) programs in Panama, Honduras, Ghana, Guatemala, or Greece, and the retention of the groups. This role is designed to work as the link between Lead Faculty/Teachers, students, and the in-country teams. The PA role description tasks can be classified under three main categories: Kambia & Squad Preparation, Lead Retention, and Program Development.

Kambia and Squad Preparation
PAs take Lead Faculty & Teachers through the Planning Timeline to prepare for their upcoming in-person or virtual program. The PA acts as a liaison between groups and local staff, providing necessary information to the in-country logistics teams to support the work with GB partner communities. This requires constant communication between all parties and updating internal supporting documentation.

PAs take the faculty/teacher leaders through the retention process once a program finishes  to make sure the group comes back for a future program. This relationship management is supported greatly by CRM (Hubspot) tools and use.

Program Development
PAs are also responsible for working alongside programming staff members to help ensure an optimal student experience. The PA supports content creation for volunteer/student preparation and communicates programmatic changes as well as creating/maintaining marketing collateral that support the advocacy of the program.

The PA reports directly to the GB Program Associate Manager and indirectly to the division presidents of Squads Abroad and Kambia.
