Global Brigades is seeking a part-time Marketing Associate (20 hours a week) with potential to grow into a full-time role. This role is remote with preference to the following locations: USA (CO, IL, NJ, OR, TX, WA) or Canada (any province) 

An international role that is responsible for executing organizational goals focused on volunteer program awareness, growth, and execution specifically through social and web media channels.  This includes developing, monitoring, and tracking content and campaign programs across social media platforms and emails to effectively promote and highlight both Global Brigades and Squads Abroad programming initiatives with key stakeholders and partners. The Marketing Associate will primarily focus on supporting Global Brigades and sub-brand Squads Abroad in 6 key areas of Social Media, Blog, Content Development, Graphic Design, Merchandise Processing, and  Email Marketing

The Marketing Associate reports directly to the Director of Marketing

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Digital content campaign development, editing, engagement, and tracking

  • Work under the supervision of the Director of Marketing to manage Social Media Platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat, YouTube, and Vimeo for Global Brigades and Squads Abroad brands
    • Curate and post content within the structure of the editorial calendar
    • Source ongoing and unique campaign content from internal staff, and external stakeholders
    • Lead engagement on all social media platforms with an emphasis on building a strong community of volunteers
    • Record and track engagement and growth metrics
  • Provide content to several marketing partners for posting on their channels 
  • Support advertisements for relevant platforms
  • Develop unique blog content
  • Plan, source, edit, and review guest blog articles

 

Digital, website, and print-based design support

 

  • Assist with selection, design, procurement, and distribution of merchandise for marketing campaigns
  • Utilize branding guidelines and templates to generate new marketing collateral
  • Work with Canva to create simple designs needed for social media and blog content
  • Support in the prioritization of graphic design projects using Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Provide design and content development support for Volunteer Resource Sites
  • Contribute to and assist with website content submissions and updates

 

Minimal Requirements:

  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with the professional use of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat, YouTube, and Vimeo
  • Adaptability to function with voices of both the Global Brigades and Squads Abroad brands
  • Able to work regular business hours in a virtual environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite  and Google Drive
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Advanced customer service skills
  • Creative and flexible
  • Competencies should include critical evaluation and ethical practices

 

 Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communication or design-related field
  • Experience working with an email service such as SendGrid, Emma, or Mailchimp
