Executive Director, Honduras

We are looking for an experienced Executive Director to oversee all operations, functions and activities in Honduras. The Executive Director will be the face of the organization, responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing the mission of the organization. Also will be responsible for increasing the access to financial resources for the organization through Local Fundraising Campaigns and Grant Applications.

The Executive Director reports directly to the Global Brigades Inc Executive Committee.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement strategies aiming to promote the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Create complete plans for the attainment of goals and objectives set by the executive committee andboard of directors
  • Manage the team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching to subordinate managers
  • Collaborate with HR director in employee performance, evaluation, and compensation reviews
  • Ensure adherence of the organization’s daily activities and long-term plans to established policies and legal guidelines
  • Direct and oversee fundraising and grant acquisition efforts
  • Forge and maintain relations of trust with shareholders, partners and government authorities
  • Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the organization
  • Develop and implement a Public Relations plan to improve the position of the Organization in the Country
  • Review reports by subordinate managers to acquire an understanding of the organization’s financial, programmatic and operations position
  • Execute remedial actions for any identified issues and conduct crisis management when necessary
  • Lead Annual Budget Creation and Support in permanent monitoring of the budget implementation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong, cross-culture communication skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and public speaking skills
  • Able to work in a virtual environment
  • 100% Bilingual (Spanish – English)(Required)
  • Strong organizational skills as well as detail-oriented
  • Proven ability successfully applying to grants, doing fundraising and networking (Required)
  • Verifiable Network of Contacts with International Development Agencies and Government officials
  • Experience in developing strategies and plans
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance principles and managerial best practices
  •  An analytical mind capable for “out-of-the-box” thinking to solve problems
  •  Experience with creating and balancing a budget
  •   Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finances or any other related field
  •   Master ́s Degree in Project Management or Business Administration (Desired not Required)
  •   At least 5 years of experience on similar leadership roles
  •   At least 10 years of general experience
