Timeline And Details

2020 Application Timeline

November 22, 2019: Applications open and begin acceptance

December 2019 – January 2020: Interviews and acceptance on a rolling basis

January 31, 2020:  Application deadline

July 12- July 18, 2020: Orientation training week. Location TBD

July 18, 2020: Travel to assigned program country from orientation week location

Individuals that will find the most success in this role

  • will commit at least 11 months to the newness and challenges of living and working in a new place abroad
  • express a true passion for educating volunteers on ethical volunteering & programming, and providing support in fundraising, recruitment and organization logistics.
  • look for an immersive cultural experience while gaining hands on professional work experience and soft skills development.
  • possess genuine interest in engaging in their assigned country to learn about their culture, language, food, traditions, etc.
  • are empowered to take initiative and responsibility in their roles
  • will work under the hardship of being abroad, with exposure to new cultures, and food
  • recognize that successful development work is based on trust in local leadership and programming teams, relationship forming, and respectfully integrating into the team dynamic
  • value working in diverse groups and exercise respect for varying cultures, work styles, opinions, and ideas
  • present strong abilities for flexibility and adaptability
