Additional Programs
Global Brigades offers volunteers the opportunity to participate in a variety of public health and development programs to relieve poverty. This multi-disciplinary approach offers our communities a holistic model for strategic development. Each Brigade can be operated independently, but it is easier logistically and more impactful in our communities when a university can align to implement together. Below is a complete list of the various Brigades:
- Water Brigades
- Global Water Brigades is a movement of passionate students and professional volunteers from around the world dedicated to improving access to clean water and sanitation. Our students collaborate with water experts and community leaders to create and implement new and innovative solutions to water problems. We currently focus our work in 40 rural Honduran communities where we have 5-year commitments to long-term sustainable development.

- Medical Brigades
- Global Medical Brigades (GMB) is a secular, international network of university clubs that travel to developing countries to perform health care in communities without access to medicine otherwise. GMB's current focus is in Honduras, where more than 1,000 volunteers have traveled in 2008 to treat more than 40,000 patients. GMB strives for a holistic model for sustainable health through rigorous needs assessments, sponsoring referrals to those with needs beyond our capacity, keeping accurate electronic patient records, and working to improve the water and improving the public health infrastructures of the villages with environmental solutions.

- Business Brigades
- Global Business Brigades (GBB) is a secular, international network of business students and professionals whose mission is to travel to developing countries to assist in local economic development by providing business solutions to microenterprises in rural villages with limited access to resources. GBB empowers volunteers with the material, know-how, and support to assess and deliver solutions that provide value while preserving local culture and the environment. Programs are currently underway in Honduras and Panama.

- Dental
- Global Dental Brigades (GDB) is a secular, international network of volunteers who provide preventative and urgent dental care to communities in developing countries. Our current emphasis is in Honduras with our sister organization, Global Medical Brigades, where in 2008 we served more than 40,000 patients in remote villages without access to health care otherwise. Programs available in Honduras, Panama or Vietnam.

- Environmental Brigades
- Global Environmental Brigades (GEB) is a secular, socially conscious network of volunteers that travel to developing countries to mitigate ecological degradation and develop sustainable environmental practices. Global Environmental Brigades empowers college students with an educational and hands-on experience abroad to develop strategic environmental solutions that integrate public health, international law, business and architecture disciplines. Customized Environmental Brigades can be added to any of the other Brigades and can take place in Honduras or Panama.

- Law Brigades
- Global Law Brigades (GLB) is a secular, international network of pre-law students and legal professionals who travel to developing regions to learn how domestic and international laws relate to human rights concerns, and implement socially and environmentally responsible solutions while respecting local culture. Participants will also have opportunities to build relationships and partner with a broad array of legal, environmental, micro-enterprise, and public health organizations. Our first Law Brigade was piloted in Costa Rica in January 2009 by the University of Washington. Interests lists are now forming.
